Extended Cookie Policy

What are cookies?

Cookies are short fragments of text (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to store information on the client (the browser) to be reused during the same visit to the website (session cookies) or later, even after several days (persistent cookies).

Cookies are stored, based on the user's preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone).

Similar technologies, such as web beacons, transparent GIFs, and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, can be used to collect information about user behavior and the use of services.

In the following sections of this document, we will refer to cookies and all similar technologies simply as "cookies."

Types of Cookies

Based on the characteristics and usage of cookies, we can distinguish several categories:

Strictly Necessary Cookies: These are essential cookies for the proper functioning of the websites and are used to manage login and access to the site's restricted functions. The duration of these cookies is generally limited to the working session (they are deleted when the browser is closed). However, in some cases, and without any notice, longer-lasting cookies (with a duration of 30 days) may also be used to recognize the visitor's computer during that period through an alphanumeric code generated during the first login session. This allows the website to present the user with the results of their previous test. Disabling these cookies may impact the use of services accessible via login. The public part of the websites remains normally accessible.

Analytics and Performance Cookies: These are cookies used to collect and analyze website traffic and usage anonymously. While these cookies do not identify the user, they allow, for example, detecting if the same user connects at different times. They also enable monitoring the system and improving its performance and usability. Disabling these cookies can be done without any loss of functionality.

Profiling Cookies: These are permanent cookies used to anonymously or non-anonymously identify user preferences and improve their browsing experience.

Third-Party Cookies:

While browsing the web, you may receive cookies from both the visited website ("first-party") and websites managed by other organizations ("third parties"). An notable example is the presence of "social plugins" for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and so on. These are parts of the visited page generated directly by the aforementioned sites and integrated into the hosting website's page. The most common use of social plugins is to facilitate content sharing on social networks.

The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all sites managed by third parties. The management of the information collected by "third parties" is governed by the relevant information which should be referred to. To ensure greater transparency and convenience, the web addresses of the various information and methods for managing cookies are shown below.

Google Analytics

The websites also include certain components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). In this case as well, these are third-party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the hosting website (performance cookies).

Google Analytics uses "cookies" to collect and anonymously analyze information about the usage behavior on websites (including the user's IP address). Such information is collected by Google Analytics, which processes it to generate reports for operators regarding the activities on the respective websites. This website does not use (and does not allow third parties to use) Google Analytics to track or collect personally identifiable information. Google does not associate the IP address with any other data held by Google, nor does it attempt to link an IP address with a user's identity. Google may also disclose this information to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process the information on behalf of Google.

The user can selectively disable the action of Google Analytics by installing the opt-out component provided by Google on their browser. To disable the action of Google Analytics, please refer to the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

Cookie Duration:

Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until the browser is closed or the user executes the logout command. Other cookies "survive" the browser closure and are available for subsequent visits by the user.

These cookies are called persistent cookies, and their duration is determined by the server at the time of their creation. In some cases, an expiration date is set, while in other cases, the duration is unlimited.

However, while browsing website pages, users may interact with sites managed by third parties that can create or modify permanent and profiling cookies.
